About us

Athens’ family chiropractor for 20+ years

Dr. Jay and Dr. Brandi Erickson came home to Athens to build a practice where every patient is treated like family. Twenty-plus years and three boys later, that promise hasn’t changed.

Our story

We came home.

Twenty years ago, Dr. Jay and Dr. Brandi Erickson made a decision most young doctors never get the chance to make: they came home.

Jay grew up in Athens. He felt what chiropractic care could do at an early age, after a soccer injury sent him to a local chiropractor’s office — and he left feeling better than when he walked in. Years later, a motorcycle accident on Baxter Street left him in far worse shape. Dr. Jerry Chastain put him back together and got him walking again. That single experience set the course for the rest of Jay’s life.

After UGA, Jay and Brandi moved to Spartanburg, South Carolina, so Jay could study at Sherman College of Chiropractic — where his passion for nutrition and spinal health took real shape. Brandi earned her own degree from Sherman in 2005 and is board-certified through the NBCE, with a particular focus on caring for expecting mothers, infants and children.

Then came the call that changed everything: Dr. Chastain, the man who’d once put Jay back together, was retiring — and wanted the Ericksons to take over his practice. With their first son on the way, Jay and Brandi packed up and came home to Athens to build something lasting.

Today, with three boys of their own raised in this community, Erickson Chiropractic and Wellness is still built on that same promise: you’re not just a patient here. You’re family. Every visit is grounded in real trust, real care, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel looked after, not processed.

Wellness chiropractic care. Nutrition. Prenatal and pediatric care. Proper rest and movement. It’s all in service of one goal — helping your body, and your family, work the way they were meant to.
